Why We love going to Flower Shows

Living in Michigan provides the opportunity to fully partake in four distinct seasons during the year. Each has its own unique aspects to love. There is always excitement here at Heather Lane Pottery as the fall season tails off and snow begins to swirl. We begin to paint for Christmas and winter. Snowmen and berry stem designs flourish along with hundreds of ornaments in so many styles. But as the Christmas season comes to a close, and New Year's celebrations end, we can't help but feel that it is time for something fresh, green and blooming. Our first show of the year, The Philadelphia Flower Show is just that.

This show is truly a breath of spring air! Held annually at the Pennsylvania Convention Center, it is the oldest and largest indoor flower show in the world and attracts 260,000 visitors each year. There are large scale gardens, sophisticated landscapes and extraordinary floral arrangements, not to mention the lectures, how-to-classes and live entertainment.

This year's theme is Explore America: 100 Years of the National Park Service.

At Heather Lane Pottery we appreciate the beautiful floral displays and garden concepts. We uniquely contribute to the flower show with favorite spring floral designs that will brighten any table. Nothing quite welcomes spring like our whimsical bunnies on garden stakes, vases and serving pieces.

When we participate in a show, we often create one of a kind pieces that are not sold on our website. It is our chance to stretch our creativity and make special pieces that our customers only encounter when they come to see us at a show or in our studio.

Meeting our customers is the inspiration for our work. We love helping our customers choose just the right piece for their home, or find the perfect gift for a special occasion. We enjoy sharing the Heather Lane Pottery story and seeing eyes light up when they are introduced to our work for the first time. "I've never seen anything like this" is a phrase we often hear. We consider it our privilege to create handmade pieces of artwork that can add joy, whimsy and color to any home.

Each year at the Philadelphia Flower Show we get a little glimpse of spring, meet with vendors that have become friends and share our work with customers who will never have a chance to come to our gallery. We hope this year you will come see us at the Philadelphia Flower Show!
